Donate Books

Not only can you give money, you can go straight to the source and give books. We've arranged for a few drop-off locations as well. If you have a ton, we can try to arrange a pick-up just for you.

Book Guidelines:

- New or gently used only (covers and pages intact, clean and readable).

- Hardcover picture books with brightly colored pictures and interesting stories are ideal.

-ROR's focus is on children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years, so that's our target for this event.

-Books about sensitive issues like divorce, abuse or death cannot be accepted. If included, they will be discarded

Literacy Matters.
Fact. Every year, 35% of American children start school without the language skills necessary to learn to read.

Fact:  Older students who struggle with reading are more likely to drop out of school.
 
There are a lot of charities that focus on children’s literacy.  We chose Reach Out & Read of Greater New York as our first, but hope to increase awareness of all of them.  Visit our links section to find out about some others.
